Malvern and District

Community Action Malvern and District operates five community transport services:

1. Community Car Scheme

Volunteers use their own cars to provide individual transport for healthcare journeys such as doctors, hospitals, dentists and chiropodist or visiting someone in hospital. Also social transport anywhere.

Eligibility

  • Resident in the Malvern area
  • Registered blind or disabled
  • Have difficulty using public transport
  • Have no other means of transport
  • Over 60 years of age

2. Shoparound

This is a door to door service providing shopping trips and days out on Mondays and Thursdays, using a wheelchair accessible minibus.

Eligibility

  • Same as listed under Community Car Scheme (see above).

3. Minibus Hire

There are 3 accessible minibuses and 3 wheelchair accessible cars available for hire weekdays, evenings and weekends to local organisations.

Eligibility

  • Non profit making organisation
  • Organisation within Malvern Hills District

4. Wheelchair Adapted Car Hire

Community Action have three cars which are specially adapted to take wheelchairs. They can be hired for social trips as well as medical appointments. A driver can be provided or the hirer can provide their own.

5. Community Bus

CB1
This service operates on Wednesdays providing transport to residents in Castlemorton, Birtsmorton, Coombe Green, Rye Cross, Sledge Green, Pendock, Longdon and Hook Bank to the shopping area of Tewkesbury. Journeys must be pre-booked by calling the Booking Line.

CB2
This service operates on Thursdays between Malvern, Gloucester and Cheltenham via Hanley Swan, Welland and Pendock
